Our Story

GLC farm belongs to a community of like-minded individuals and businesses that are devoted to the promotion of organic farming while simultaneously protecting the environment.

Our Story

Green living Camp Farm (AKA GLC) was established in 2007 at Nakornpathom Province, Thailand with a father-son-daughter team taking care of all of the day-to-day operations.
At that time, most of the rice that was grown in Thailand was brown and then milled to be sold as common white rice.  It is also important to note that most conventional (non-organic) rice was grown using synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides.

Many studies continued to show these chemicals are a major health concern to the consumer and the farmer.  We realized that GLC could improve the health of our family as well as our community and even people around the world.

Organic Rice

The first organic crops that were grown on the farm were unique non – GMO, heirloom species, “Hom Nakhon Chaisri” rice that had been missing from Thai agriculture for over 40 years.  We began with Riceberry Rice, Red Jasmine Rice, and Brown Jasmine Rice.  These varieties were chosen due to their significant nutritional properties that provide short and long term health benefits. Some of the important nutrients include high fibre, antioxidants, protein, and gamma oryzanol.

Organic Bananas

Next, we started growing a native species of banana, called Nam Wah.  They are a very delicious variety and grow well in our part of Thailand.  This a small banana that has a creamy and sweet taste when eaten ripe.  We naturally sundry these little bananas in our solar dome.  They become caramel-coloured, sweet, soft and chewy yummy morsels that are a local favourite among Thais and tourists alike.

Our mission:  promote healthy living with our organic farmed products and be eco-friendly stewards of our planet.

GLC also conducts “Fun on the Farm” tours to educate the general public and farmers in promoting eco-living and organic best practices.  We have shared our vision with hundreds of farmers from Thailand and around the world.  We have also entertained groups of school children with the aim of educating them on where their food comes from.

Currently, GLC is selling beyond the Thailand market and exporting to North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.  Our customers sell on both brick and mortar stores and e-commerce platforms to meet growing consumer demand for organic/eco-farmed products.
